Leasing Policy – Sky Contract Services

This Leasing Policy outlines the terms and conditions that apply to mobile devices, handsets, or accessories provided to customers under a leasing or instalment-based agreement through Sky Contract Services.

By accepting a contract that includes a leased device, you acknowledge and agree to the obligations and responsibilities described below.

Overview of Device Leasing

Under certain mobile contracts, Sky Contract Services may offer devices on a lease basis or via device instalment plans. This means:

  • You do not own the device until all required payments are completed

  • The device remains the property of Sky Contract Services or its finance partner during the lease term

  • At the end of the contract or lease, you may have the option to purchase, upgrade, return, or continue the agreement

Details of your lease arrangement, including duration, payment structure, and upgrade eligibility, will be clearly set out in your contract confirmation.

Lease Term and Payments

Leased devices are typically provided over a 12, 18, or 24-month term and bundled with your mobile service plan. Your monthly payment covers:

  • The cost of leasing the device

  • The cost of your network/data/service bundle

  • Any applicable administrative fees

Payments are due monthly, via direct debit or another approved method. Missed or failed payments may result in service suspension, additional fees, or referral to a collections agency.

End-of-Lease Options

At the end of your lease or contract term, you may:

  • Return the device in good working condition with no financial obligation beyond the agreed term

  • Upgrade to a new device on a new lease or contract (subject to approval)

  • Purchase the device outright at a discounted final payment (subject to eligibility)

If the device is not returned or purchased at the end of the lease, additional charges may apply.

Device Condition Requirements

Devices returned at the end of a lease must be in good working order, meaning:

  • No cracked screens, liquid damage, or visible physical damage

  • The device powers on and functions normally

  • The device has not been jailbroken, rooted, or otherwise modified

  • All accessories originally provided are returned with the device

Devices returned with damage may be subject to repair fees or deductions, and loss of upgrade eligibility.

Customer Obligations

As the lessee, you are responsible for:

  • Taking reasonable care of the leased device throughout the term

  • Not selling, pawning, or transferring ownership of the device

  • Reporting any damage, loss, or theft immediately

  • Ensuring the device is returned (if required) in acceptable condition

  • Making all agreed monthly payments in full and on time

You may be required to settle outstanding device costs early if you cancel your contract before the minimum term ends.

Insurance and Risk

Sky Contract Services may offer optional insurance to cover accidental damage, theft, or loss of a leased device. If you decline insurance, you accept full liability for:

  • The cost of repairing or replacing the device in the event of damage or loss

  • Continuing your monthly lease payments, regardless of device condition

Insurance claims are subject to approval and may include an excess fee.

Early Termination

If you end your lease or service agreement early (within the minimum term), you may be liable for:

  • The remaining balance of the lease

  • Any outstanding service or usage fees

  • Return or settlement of the leased device

You will be notified of any early termination fees upon request or at the time of cancellation.

Breach of Lease Terms

Failure to comply with this policy may result in:

  • Suspension or disconnection of your service

  • Termination of your agreement

  • Recovery action for outstanding balances or unreturned equipment

  • Ineligibility for future leases or upgrades
